Canadian actor Tyler Hynes and Church of Scientology Canadian public affairs director Al Buttnor were on hand in Los Angeles as Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) and the Church of Scientology jointly unveiled two new international human rights awards at a special announcement event held in Hollywood. The event was held at the Church of Scientology Advanced Organization of Los Angeles and webcast to human rights advocates around the world.

The new awards, known as the Youth for Human Rights Hero Award for those twenty-one years of age and under and the Know Your Rights Hero Award for adults, recognize outstanding achievements in the promotion of human rights through implementation of one or more of the thirty articles of the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR). Awardees will be announced after the April 30th deadline for world-wide nominations.

Der Zweck von Jugend für Menschenrechte International ist:

"Die Jugend rund um den Globus über Menschenrechte zu unterrichten, und ihnen dadurch zu helfen, wertvolle Fürsprecher für die Förderung von Toleranz und Frieden zu werden."

Mary Shuttlewort, Rektorin einer Schule und Kinder-Fürsprecher aus Los Angeles startete Jugend für Menschenrechte International als Erziehungsprogramm für Kinder, damit diese in frühem Alter zu einem Verständnis der Wichtigkeit von Menschenrechten und religiöser Toleranz gelangen. Sie realisierte, dass sehr wenig getan wurde, um junge Leute über Menschenrechte auszubilden, und sie dient als Leitender Direktor der Gruppe.

Scientology Effective Solutions presented by  Church of Scientology International European Office for Public Affairs and Human Rights.

The new Church of Scientology International European Public Affairs and Human Rights Office is the Church’s window to the European Union and a focal point for its various human rights and social betterment campaigns. The office houses the first permanent European exhibition on Scientology, covering three floors and showing the various social betterment and human rights activities of the churches of Scientology and their parishioners around the world.
