Not so nice areas in Los Angeles
This is somehwere in Los Angeles Downtown, "Gotham City", if you will....

Crime Prevention is pretty important in these areas... so it is - once more - pretty good that the
Scientologists are around and caring. Not that they would make a good police, but the police would not make good without them.

It's too hot here...and other smart observations

Los Angeles is much hotter than Europe. For a city between desert and the pacifc ocean the weather is pretty stably...hot. Time to hang out at the beach and read a good book, like
Writers of the Future 2006, presented by
L. Ron Hubbard. Now, Hubbard is actually not alive anymore since a while, but hit
heritage stays alive. BTW, the book is really relaxing.

That's a pic from LA Airport. Qantas....hold on..reminds me of...yep... here it is:
"The 1980's were far from Travolta's best film making decade, but the 1990's showcased once again his tremendous acting ability. 'Look who's talking' starring alongside Kirsty Alley and the key cinematography epic of the 90's, which gave him untouchable credibility - 'Pulp Fiction', this now meant Travolta had three generations enjoying his talents, Baby boomers, Gen x & y.
Flying into Melbourne for the third time throughout his career, John arrived in style in his
707 Quantas Jet. The Melbourne Herald Sun headline read ' The Travolta Show hits town'" (from:
Femail Magazine)
Maybe he is in that one too, who knows.... There has been much discussion about Travolta being a
Scientologist and close to the
Leader of the Church of Scientology, David Miscavige. Dunno. I like his movies, and he is REALLY COOL!

Summer vacation 2006!
I think I'll try my german a bit here:
Erst waren wir in Hamburg und haben erstmal die Alster angeschaut, siehe das Photo oben. Dann waren wir in der
Scientology Kirche Hamburg. Das ist da ganz anders als in den
Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika, irgendwie laendlicher, aber strikter.
Naja,
Religionsfreiheit - Religious Freedom ist in den USA auch etablierter und man kann sich trauen,
Scientologe zu sein und es zu zeigen! Zurueck nach Hamburg!
Back to
Hamburg! I have to sort through all my pictures and will upload some more tomorrow! It was raining most of the time, but I am sure I'll find some!

Half Way through August Already!
When I was a kid, summer used to last forever. Now it's almost gone and I forgot to notice!
I've been working hard and long hours. I love it because I know I'm accomplishing something and I really love my work. But it doesn't lend itself to a good summer tan.

German Anti-Drug Booklets
The drug problem is prolific around the world - America, Germany, Australia, Holland and all over.
It is vital that our children gain an understand of the damage drugs do to them personally and to their families.
The Church of Scientology International has put out an anti-drug booklet in many languages, including German, specifically for the purpose of drug prevention.
This new campaign was recently released at an event emceed by Mr. David Miscavige.

At the base of the Italian Alps
Italy has magnificent Alps as well as Switzerland, and at the base of the mountains is Torino, made famous most recently by this winter's Olympics.
A few weeks ago at an event emceed by Mr. David Miscavige we saw a video of the new building that will be the future home of the Church of Scientology of Torino and an animated simulation of how it will look once full restoration and renovations are complete. It is magnificent and I, for one, can't wait!

Church of Scientology of Lausanne
A while back I was driving through Switzerland so I dropped in on the Church of Scientology of Lausanne.
What a beautiful city and what a great group of people.
I was really impressed.
They have a very active corps of Scientology Volunteer Ministers. They are also very active in educating kids on the danger of drugs. While I was there they set up a big boothe in the center of the town over the weekend and passed out booklets and coloring books that told the truth about drugs. They also handled out helium balloons, where were a total hit.
The Church is a lively active place with friendly helpful people.
They are a terrific representation of Scientology.

Late last spring friends of mine were in Europe on business and asked me to join them. It was a pretty wild couple of months. Some of our business was in Italy, some in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.
With appointments all over the continent they rented a car and tried to plot a sensible course, but plans changed and we ended up driving through Switzerland at least four times.
The first time was in late April and when we got to the Mont Blanc tunnel, coming up from Italy, the sides of the highway were covered in snow and it was cold!!
A month later, on our next trip, you would hardly have recognized the place. No snow at all. It's such a fast progression.
But those mountains! I don't think I'll ever forget the sight of the alps around Lucern at dawn.
While I was in Switzerland I took some time out to visit friends in Lausanne and Zurich. These are Scientologists I've met in different places - some in Florida, some in California.
And when I was in Brussels I visited the Church of Scientology International European Office for Public Affairs and Human Rights. They have a fabulous exhibit there that goes through all of the social programs the Scientology churches have for their communities. Seeing it all in one exhibition you really get the concept of how much difference Scientology technology can have in people's lives.
One thing that really struck me over the two months I spent with these friends, there are so many really competent and caring people and it made me all the more determined to make Scientology technology available to people for their use.
